BK’s Tavern St Paddy’s Day 5K

The St. Paddy’s Day 5K is a fast course through Fall River’s Industrial Park and is for runners and walkers of all ages. Ample parking available at BK’s Tavern and several nearby lots

Miles for Smiles 5k

Grab your friends and family to form a team that will be fundraising champions for the Annual Miles for SMILES. This race is a measured and chip timed 5k Road Race and Walk at UMass Dartmouth. There is also a 1K fun run for kids!

APRIL

BOLD Color Run

The BOLD Coalition 5k color run is the first event of its kind in the Greater Fall River area. The loop course in the northern end of Fall River is complimented by color stations sure to motivate casual participants and advanced runners to race on to the next station. A festival highlighted with music, food and photo opportunities is held at the end of the race. Fun for everyone!

Thomas Guinta Memorial 5k Road Race

This 5k road race in the North End of the City is held to benefit Officer Thomas J Giunta, a 21-year veteran of the Fall River Police Department, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on August 24, 1994. All of the race proceeds are used to benefit the Thomas Guinta Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Big Walk at the Bioreserve

Strap on your hiking boots and take part in the annual Big Walk to celebrate the vastness of several undeveloped forest properties in Fall River and Freetown, known as the Bioreserve. The properties include Freetown State Forest, land owned by Mass Wildlife, other land owned by the City of Fall River and a small parcel owned by the Trustees of Reservations. Together, the Bioreserve totals 13,600 acres.

Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life movement is the world’s largest and most impactful fundraising event to end cancer. It unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and take action to finish the fight once and for all. Held every year at one of the local Fall River high school tracks.

The annual Healthfirst Family Health Center walk is typically held in late summer or early fall. Perfect for all ages.

Fall River Half Marathon

This is Fall River’s only and original half marathon. The moderately challenging course in held in Fall River’s North End in the Industrial Park and Meridian Street area. There is also an accompanying 5K that gives family and friends of marathon participants a chance to run through a shorter and less challenging course.
